"Duck Tales text-only adventure: Scrooge McDuck's treasure quest" is a hack/translation of the 1991 Chezh ZX Spectrum text-only adventure, by Likuri Software and programmer Martin Hora, Duck Tales Kačeří Příběhy.

You play as Scrooge McDuck, and your quest is to find a hidden treasure. You must reclaim your title as the richest duck in the world!

There are five ways to die and only one way to finish the game successfully. You can interact with people, examine items/people/places, use items, explore.

You can use the following commands to navigate and interact with your surroundings.

Navigation commands:

  • U/UP/GO UP
  • D/DOWN/GO DOWN
  • N/NORTH/GO NORTH
  • E/EAST/GO EAST
  • S/SOUTH/GO SOUTH
  • W/WEST/GO WEST

Interaction commands:

  • TAKE/TAKE THE (ITEM)
  • PUT DOWN/PUT DOWN THE (ITEM)
  • USE/USE THE (ITEM)
  • BUY/BUY A/BUY THE (ITEM)

Informational commands:

  • EXAMINE/EXAMINE THE (ITEM OR PERSON)
  • L/LOOK/LOOK AROUND/SEE
  • I/ITEMS/INVENTORY
  • H/HELP/INSTRUCTIONS
  • A/ABOUT

Special commands:

  • OPEN DOOR/OPEN THE DOOR
  • PUSH BUTTON/PUSH THE BUTTON
  • SAVE
  • LOAD
  • SOME SWEAR WORDS
  • END/END GAME/EXIT/EXIT GAME/RESIGN

What is done in the hack:

  • Everything has been translated to English.
  • The game's bugs have been fixed.
  • New viewable items have been added.
  • Text has been expanded and new phrases have been added.
  • Help and About screens have been added.
  • Command synonyms have been added.

Thank you! Most credits should go to the original programmer, Martin Hora; I tried my best to enhance and perfect it :-)
As I had to play it thoroughly  many times, myself, I can tell you I loved this game, It's really good!

300% acceleration for such games, is a great idea! The next one I'm translating is also a text-only adventure and is displaying the text letter by letter (at least in a nice and fluid way).
